A Celebration is Coming
The Singers' Club of Cleveland presented its first public concert on May 19, 1892. In that year, the Club also began an uninterrupted series of concert seasons, creating an ongoing performance history far longer than any other performing arts organization in Cleveland. From its beginning, the Club has presented a wide-ranging repertoire of choral music, always striving for excellence in the production of the rich sound of a fine male chorus.
We are now approaching our 125th Anniversary. To celebrate this remarkable achievement, we are planning a series of special concerts and events, beginning in May 2017, and continuing through our 2017-2018 Season. We hope that you will be part of this unique experience. As part of this celebration, we have set a goal of establishing a $125,000 Sustaining Fund to help ensure our Club's future. Friends of the Club will have a number of opportunities to help us reach this goal, including sponsoring and/or attending our celebratory concerts and fundraising events, and placing advertising messages in program books.
Another opportunity is available now: we invite you to make a gift to the Club, to honor one or more of our singers during the holiday season, on his birthday, on Father's Day, or any other special occasion. Memorial gifts honoring singers who are no longer with us would also be appropriate and welcome. All such gifts honoring present or past singers will be applied to our $125,000 goal, and the names of the donors and the honored singers will be published in our concert programs. The attached Honor a Singer Gift Program document lists the current donors and honorees, and includes a contribution form that you may use in order to participate in this project.
And, please be on the look-out for more details coming up about our approaching 125th Anniversary celebration!
