On Saturday, May 17, 2008, The Singers’ Club of Cleveland presents Singers’ Club
Hit Parade, a concert of favorite music from recent seasons. The program will
range widely in style and mood, from Irving Berlin’s lighthearted Puttin’ on the
Ritz and Aaron Copland’s Ching-A-Ring Chaw to stirring pieces like Joseph Martin’s
The Awakening and Randall Thompson’s The God Who Gave Us Life Gave Us Liberty
(from “The Testament of Freedom”). Captivating works include Franz Biebl’s Ave
Maria and Bring Him Home from “Les Miserables.” A special feature of the concert
will be performances by winners of recent S. Livingston Mather Scholarship Competitions.
Singers’ Club Hit Parade begins at 8:00 p.m. in the Waetjen Auditorium, located at
East 21st Street and Euclid Avenue on the campus of Cleveland State University. Ticket
orders for the concert are now being accepted; all seats are reserved. Single adult tickets
are $20, with special pricing for seniors ($17) and students ($10). Group pricing is
available. Please call The Singers’ Club at 216-556-4405 to order or click on Tickets for full details.
